The Orange Tulip Scholarship is one of the most misunderstood funding programs in Europe because it is not one single scholarship—it is an umbrella brand for hundreds of different university-specific offers targeting specific nationalities. If you are from an eligible 'Neso country'—such as India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil, or South Africa—the OTS is a dedicated pipeline just for your nationality. Dutch universities use the OTS to strategically recruit students from specific markets to diversify their classrooms.

This means you are not competing against the entire world; you are only competing against other applicants from your own country for specific slots reserved just for your nationality. The financial value of the OTS varies wildly. One university might offer a 50% tuition waiver for an engineering Master's, another might offer a flat 5,000-euro discount, and occasionally, a university will offer a 100% tuition waiver.

You must hunt through the specific OTS list for your country to find the high-value offers.
