Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) represents an ambitious initiative in Zimbabwe’s higher education landscape, focused on fostering excellence across diverse fields of study and serving as a vital catalyst for national development. Established in 1999, GZU is a non-profit institution dedicated to academic research, practical training, and lifelong learning centered within the historical and culturally significant city of Masvingo. Located in Zimbabwe’s province, it operates with a strategic emphasis on creating impactful contributions across sectors driving socio-economic progress.

GZU's core mission centers on cultivating skilled professionals aligned with the evolving needs of the nation. The institution boasts a robust curriculum encompassing Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines – including Anthropology, Economics, Education, Finance, Gender Studies, Junior High Education, Accounting, Adult Education, African Languages, Agricultural Education, Animal Science, Archaeology, Art and Design, History, Humanities, Information Technology, and more. Recognizing the pivotal role of specialized knowledge, GZU has established strong partnerships with institutions across Zimbabwe and internationally to ensure relevant curriculum development.
